Happy New Years!
Happy New Year's to all of you! I hope you all had a wonderful day, and maybe started a new hobby? Or at least better habits than years past?
I started the new year with a new hobby. I went out split boarding for the first time. For those of you who
don't know what split boarding is, it is essentially a snowboard, that splits in two, allowing the user to attach climbing skins, and climb the mountain to go back country snowboarding, or touring. Given the fact that I work at one of the best outdoors store in our end of the Fraser Valley, I am fortunate enough to get to meet all sorts of interesting people, including long time customer, and now friend Bobby. Bobby was gracious enough to take me out with him and some of his group today, to get me accustomed to the equipment and split boarding as a whole. I have to say, it was as much or more fun than I expected. The actual act of skinning, and going uphill is going to take a fair bit more getting used too, but it was still super fun. I am looking forward to getting out with him, and that group of people more in the future, and especially more split boarding.
At this point you might be asking what this has to do with photography. You are on a photography blog after all. Well, I will be using this new hobby as a method of transport to get to more areas for landscape photography, as well as a means to fill up the new page on my site, the Adventure Lifestyle page. Going into 2019 here, I want to push my boundaries as a photographer, and as a person. One of the ways I will be doing this is to start doing more of the Adventure Lifestyle photography, and just documenting my adventures in the back country more. Also, if you are local to the Fraser Valley, and specifically Abbotsford, I am hoping to find my self, and more importantly my photos in some craft markets or somewhere else for sale soon.
Thanks for reading, and that's all for now!
